The Batu Islands are an Indonesian archipelago in the Indian Ocean off the west coast of Sumatra, between Nias and Siberut. Its three largest islands, Pini, Tanahmasa and Tanahbala, are joined by about seventy-five smaller islands, and the group is administered as part of South Nias regency in North Sumatra province.
