The Baruungoyot Formation, also known as Barun Goyot, is a geological formation of Late Cretaceous age, dated to the Maastrichtian stage, widely represented in the Gobi Desert basin of Omnogovi Province, Mongolia. It is composed mainly of sandstone roughly 110 meters thick, representing an ancient environment of wind-blown desert sand dunes. Its stratotype is at the Khulsan locality east of Nemegt, and it directly underlies the Nemegt Formation.
