Ari Atoll, also called Alif or Alifu Atoll, is one of the natural atolls of the Maldives and one of the largest, lying in the west of the archipelago. Its almost rectangular chain of islands spans about 89 by 3 kilometers and is divided for administration into Northern Ari Atoll and Southern Ari Atoll, comprising 105 islands in all. The atoll is part of the zone designated for tourist development in the Maldives, with more than 20 islands hosting self-contained resorts, and it lies roughly a 30-minute seaplane flight from the capital, Male.
