Alberni Valley is a broad valley at the head of Alberni Inlet on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada, home to Port Alberni, Sproat Lake, and surrounding communities. The name is used both as a synonym for Greater Port Alberni and as a broader regional designation, and is carried by local institutions such as the Alberni Valley Times and Alberni Valley News, the local Chamber of Commerce, and the Bulldogs minor hockey team; the Canadian pioneer Joe Drinkwater lived in the valley in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
