Chincha Islands

Structural and Tectonic Formations

The Chincha Islands are a group of three small islands 21 kilometers off the southwest coast of Peru, near the town of Pisco. Since pre-Incan times they have been valued for their extensive guano deposits, though the supplies were mostly exhausted by 1874.
