Geological Formation

Sia Kangri

Structural and Tectonic Formations

Sia Kangri stands in the Baltoro Muztagh of the Karakoram, its summit lying on the border of Pakistan and China, the 63rd-highest mountain in the world and the 25th-highest in Pakistan. About a kilometer southeast of its summit lies the tri-point where the disputed territories controlled by India, Pakistan and China meet, and the peak sits on the watershed between the Indus River basin and the Tarim Basin. This entity documents Sia Kangri specifically as a geological formation, a Karakoram summit marking a hydrological watershed near a disputed three-way border junction.
