Gasherbrum IV

Structural and Tectonic Formations

Gasherbrum IV, originally surveyed as K3, rises in the Gasherbrum massif of the Karakoram range in Pakistan, the seventeenth-highest mountain on Earth, the sixth-highest peak in Pakistan, and the highest independent mountain in the country that falls short of eight thousand meters. It is a non-volcanic peak raised by the same continental collision building the rest of the Karakoram. This entity documents Gasherbrum IV specifically as a geological formation, the highest independent Pakistani summit below the eight-thousand-meter threshold.
