Crescenta Valley

Structural and Tectonic Formations

Crescenta Valley is a small inland valley in Los Angeles County, California, enclosed by the San Gabriel Mountains to the northeast and by the Verdugo Mountains and San Rafael Hills to the southwest. Its floor lies above 1,500 feet in elevation and is nearly bisected by the Verdugo Wash, a smaller valley separating the Verdugo Mountains from the San Rafael Hills. The valley connects to the San Fernando Valley to the northwest and the San Gabriel Valley to the southeast, and today holds the communities of La Canada Flintridge, Montrose, La Crescenta-Montrose, Sunland, Tujunga and parts of Los Angeles and Glendale.
