Mount Halcon is the highest mountain on the island of Mindoro in the Philippines. Its elevation has traditionally been given as about 2,586 meters, though a 2022 survey found it to be about 2,616 meters, a figure not yet officially confirmed. It ranks as the 23rd-highest peak in the Philippines and the 37th-highest peak found on any island on Earth. Its steep slopes have made it one of the most technically difficult mountains to climb in the country. The first documented ascent was made in 1906 by the American botanist Elmer Drew Merrill, accompanying a party of forestry and military personnel. This entity documents Mount Halcon specifically as a geological formation, Mindoro's highest peak and one of the Philippines' most technically difficult climbs.
