Upper Atmosphere Phenomena

This group collects the Meteorology subcategory's members that occur in or concern the upper atmosphere rather than the near-surface weather covered by this subcategory's other groups: the stratosphere itself, tropospheric scatter, ionized-air glow and ground-level ozone as a marker of pollution reaching from the surface into the lower atmosphere. This is the subcategory's smallest group, distinguished from the others by altitude rather than by the type of phenomenon.
