Wind and Pressure Systems

This group collects the Meteorology subcategory's members that name a wind pattern or a pressure feature of synoptic-scale weather rather than a storm event itself: weather fronts, pressure systems in their high- and low-pressure forms, cut-off lows, anticyclogenesis, wind direction and the Saharan air layer and heat dome as named large-scale circulation features. These are the mechanisms that set up the storms and severe weather in the subcategory's larger group, kept separate as the underlying circulation rather than the resulting weather event.
