Meteorology

Onibi is a type of atmospheric ghost light in the legends of Japan. Folklore holds that onibi are spirits born from the corpses of humans and animals, or resentful people who have become fire, and the Japanese words for will-o'-the-wisp and jack-o'-lantern are sometimes translated as onibi.
