The Jeti-Ögüz Rocks are a protected geological formation in the Jeti-Ögüz district of the Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan, near the city of Karakol, established as a nature monument in 1975. The site sheer red cliffs are made of Tertiary period conglomerate, and their eroded ridge line is said to resemble seven bulls standing in a row, which gives the formation its Kyrgyz name meaning seven bulls. A nearby outcrop known as the broken heart is tied to a local legend about an unfaithful khan wife, and the rocks have become a recognized national symbol appearing in paintings and songs.
