All Named Scenic Rock and Cliff Formations

This group collects the Named Rock Formations and Groups subcategory's members that are named for their visible, often colorful or dramatically eroded appearance rather than for a formal stratigraphic unit: the White Cliffs of Dover, Zhangye Danxia's banded red sandstone, Pamukkale's travertine terraces, the Painted Desert, Moeraki Boulders and other landmark rock formations known chiefly as scenic or tourist destinations. These are distinguished from the subcategory's stratigraphic-formation group by being named and known for their appearance and setting rather than for their place in the geologic column.
