Bajada

Landform Concepts

A bajada is a broad slope formed where a series of alluvial fans coalesce along the base of a mountain front, built up as streams deposit sediment onto the flatter ground below the range. The name comes from the Spanish word for descent or slope, reflecting the gentle, continuous incline the merged fans create.
