Locally or Regionally Protected

Protected status records whether a formation is legally set aside from development. Wikipedia notes that the Grand Canyon "and adjacent rim are contained within Grand Canyon National Park, the Kaibab National Forest, Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument" and several tribal reservations. Browsing by protected status shows which formations a visitor could see preserved and which have no such protection.
