Natures Window is a rock arch in the inland gorge section of Kalbarri National Park, on the Murchison River in Western Australia's Mid West region, about 485 kilometers north of Perth. It is carved from red and white striped Tumblagooda sandstone, the same rock that characterizes the park's formations throughout, shaped into its window-like opening by prolonged wind and water erosion. The Murchison River gorge that the arch overlooks extends nearly 80 kilometers along the river's lower reaches, showing how the same fluvial erosion has carved the sandstone into dramatic forms across a wide area; the park's coastal sections display comparable erosional features, including a sea stack and a natural bridge, formed by similar weathering in a different setting. This entity documents Natures Window specifically as a geological formation.
