Jamison Valley

Gorges and Canyons

Jamison Valley is a valley in the Blue Mountains of New South Wales, Australia, about 100 kilometers west of Sydney and just south of Katoomba, cut into Triassic-age sandstone over underlying shale as part of the Coxs River canyon system. It stretches roughly 4 kilometers north to south and 10 kilometers east to west with a depth of about 400 meters, bounded by a northern escarpment lined with waterfalls including Wentworth, Katoomba, and Leura Falls, and containing Mount Solitary as its only peak. Framed by the Narrow Neck Plateau and Kings Tableland and covered largely in eucalypt forest, the valley is a major tourist destination, home to the Three Sisters rock formations and the Scenic World complex.
