Sólheimajökull

Glaciers and Ice Formations

Sólheimajökull is an outlet glacier in southern Iceland, lying between the volcanoes Katla and Eyjafjallajökull as part of the larger Mýrdalsjökull ice cap. It is a prominent and popular tourist destination owing to its size and the relative ease of access to its ice front.
