Rennick Glacier is a major outlet glacier of the East Antarctic Ice Sheet, flowing north from the polar plateau west of the Mesa Range to Rennick Bay on the Southern Ocean. It is one of Antarctica largest glaciers, stretching nearly 200 nautical miles and varying from 20 to 30 nautical miles wide before narrowing to about 10 nautical miles near the coast. Its seaward end was first photographed during the US Navy 1946-47 Operation Highjump, and its upper reaches were explored by the US Victoria Land Traverse in February 1960, whose party was evacuated from the glacier by a Navy aircraft piloted by Lieutenant Commander Robert L. Dale. It takes its name from Rennick Bay, where it reaches the sea.
