Concordia is a site in Pakistan Karakoram range, in the Baltistan region, marking the confluence of the Baltoro Glacier and the Godwin-Austen Glacier at an elevation of about 4,691 meters. It functions primarily as a base camp for mountaineering expeditions to K2 and other nearby peaks, and is also a destination for trekkers, offering views of some of the highest mountains on Earth where the two glaciers meet. The name was given by the English mountaineer Aleister Crowley during a 1902 attempt on K2, after a similarly named glacial confluence in the Swiss Alps, and the site is reported to have first been reached by Robert Lerco in 1890, followed by William Martin Conway in 1892.
