Bridgeport Valley is a large, fertile mountain basin in Mono County, California, lying between the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada and the Bodie Hills. The valley is about 10 miles long and 7.5 miles wide, covering roughly 45 square miles, with a floor at about 6,460 feet in elevation that stays generally flat even though the surrounding slopes rise steeply, up to 3,000 feet on the west side and 1,500 to 2,500 feet on the east. The East Walker River, joined by Robinson and Swager Creeks, is the main waterway, and an alluvial fan built by Robinson Creek has produced fertile grassland used mainly for ranching. Bridgeport, near Bridgeport Reservoir at the north end of the valley, is the only town in the valley, and U.S. Route 395 and California State Route 182 both cross it.
