Home›Geological Formations›Formation Type›Valleys of the Eastern AlpsGroupValleys of the Eastern AlpsThis group collects the former Valleys of the Alps and Central Europe group's members lying in the eastern ranges of the Alps: the valleys of Austria across Tyrol, Vorarlberg, Carinthia and Lower Austria, the valleys of Italy's South Tyrol and Trentino, and the Julian and Kamnik Alps of Slovenia. The eastern Alps are geologically dominated by the Northern and Southern Limestone Alps and the crystalline central zone running through the Hohe Tauern and the Dolomites, a markedly different rock record from the granitic western arc, and its valleys share a common Austrian, Slovenian and South Tyrolean settlement and place-name history that sets them apart from the rest of the range.FactsValleys of the Eastern AlpsSourcesComments (0)Reader Challenges (0)FactsComparisonContinentWell-attestedEurope 1Valleys of the Eastern AlpsFilter Results43 entriesFormation FamilyAllValleys of the Eastern Alps (43)Formed By (Process)AllErosion (31)Glaciation (1)DisciplineAllGeomorphology (43)Protected StatusAllLocally or Regionally Protected (3)National Park or Reserve (7)Natura 2000 Site (5)WhereAllAustria (17)Germany (3)Italy (22)Liechtenstein (1)Slovenia (4)Switzerland (2)Show ResultsBrowseCompareSelect all 43BersntolValleys of the Eastern AlpsBodentalValleys of the Eastern AlpsBrandnertalValleys of the Eastern AlpsBrixentalValleys of the Eastern AlpsDefereggen ValleyValleys of the Eastern AlpsDurnholzer TalValleys of the Eastern AlpsEggentalValleys of the Eastern AlpsEtschtalValleys of the Eastern AlpsFassa ValleyValleys of the Eastern AlpsFiemme ValleyValleys of the Eastern AlpsHöhlensteintalValleys of the Eastern AlpsHöllental (Lower Austria)Valleys of the Eastern AlpsHöllental (Wetterstein)Valleys of the Eastern AlpsInntalValleys of the Eastern AlpsJaun ValleyValleys of the Eastern AlpsKlostertalValleys of the Eastern AlpsLogar Valley (Slovenia)Valleys of the Eastern AlpsMontafonValleys of the Eastern AlpsNon ValleyValleys of the Eastern AlpsÖtztalValleys of the Eastern AlpsPasseier ValleyValleys of the Eastern AlpsPaznaunValleys of the Eastern AlpsPitztalValleys of the Eastern AlpsPlanicaValleys of the Eastern AlpsPrimieroValleys of the Eastern AlpsRidnauntalValleys of the Eastern AlpsSchnalstalValleys of the Eastern AlpsStubaitalValleys of the Eastern AlpsSuldentalValleys of the Eastern AlpsTauferer AhrntalValleys of the Eastern AlpsTrenta (valley)Valleys of the Eastern AlpsTuxertalValleys of the Eastern AlpsUlten ValleyValleys of the Eastern AlpsVal BadiaValleys of the Eastern AlpsVal di SoleValleys of the Eastern AlpsVal GardenaValleys of the Eastern AlpsVal RendenaValleys of the Eastern AlpsValsuganaValleys of the Eastern AlpsVinschgauValleys of the Eastern AlpsVipava ValleyValleys of the Eastern AlpsWindautalValleys of the Eastern AlpsZerzer TalValleys of the Eastern AlpsZillertalValleys of the Eastern AlpsSources1.
