Valley of the Ten Peaks

Valleys

The Valley of the Ten Peaks is a valley in Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada, crowned by ten notable peaks and also holding Moraine Lake. It lies in the Bow Range of the Canadian Rockies and is reached by the Moraine Lake road near Lake Louise, with Moraine Creek draining the valley and the Larch Valley Trail crossing part of it. The ten peaks, numbered east to west by early explorer Samuel Allen using Stoney First Nations numerals, include Mount Fay at 3,235 meters, Mount Allen at 3,310 meters, and Deltaform Mountain at 3,424 meters, the highest of the group. The valley appeared on the Canadian twenty dollar bill in 1969 and 1979, and the Neil Colgan Hut, the highest permanent structure in Canada, lies an eight to twelve hour climb from Moraine Lake.
