Sossusvlei is a salt and clay pan enclosed by towering red sand dunes in the southern Namib Desert, within Namibia's Namib-Naukluft National Park. The name is often used more broadly for the surrounding dune landscape, which is one of Namibia's most visited natural landmarks.
