The Egmont Islands, also called Egmont Atoll or Six Iles, are an uninhabited coral atoll in the Chagos Archipelago in the Indian Ocean, one of the few atolls there whose reef emerges above the water. The formation covers about 29 square kilometers including its lagoon and fringing reef, with about 4 square kilometers of dry land, and lies less than 10 kilometers south of the southwestern edge of the Great Chagos Bank; it has long served sailors in the region as an anchoring point.
