Cornwallis South Reef

Cornwallis South Reef, known in Vietnamese as Đá Núi Le, in Chinese as Nanhua Reef and in the Philippines as Osmeña Reef, is a coral atoll reef in the Spratly Islands in the South China Sea, covering roughly 10 by 5 kilometers and entirely submerged at high tide. It lies in the southwestern Spratlys and is administered by Vietnam as part of Trường Sa district, though it is also claimed by China, the Philippines and Taiwan. Vietnam dredged access channels in 2014 and 2015 and has carried out land reclamation on the reef since 2015, work that was damaged by Typhoon Melor in December 2015, with reclaimed land planned to reach 7.5 hectares across two sections by 2025.
