Reefs and Shoals of the Indian Ocean

This is the subcategory's smallest ocean-region group by count, spanning both coral reef and open-water shoal features, several documented chiefly through shipping and hydrographic surveys rather than as tourist or dive destinations, reflecting how much of this region's named reef content in the atlas comes from historical maritime records.
