Scorpion Reef is an atoll in the Gulf of Mexico, about 125 kilometres off the northern coast of Yucatan, Mexico, and part of the Campeche Bank archipelago. The largest reef in the southern Gulf of Mexico, it holds five main vegetated islets, Isla Perez, Isla Desertora, Isla Pajaros, Isla Chica and Isla Desterrada, and is recognised as an Important Bird Area for its population of magnificent frigatebirds.
