A sea arch is a natural arch, or rock bridge, formed where erosion cuts an opening through a coastal cliff, fin or stack. Natural arches of this kind form where erosion from the sea, from rivers or from weathering works through a narrow point in the rock, leaving a span of stone standing over open water or open ground; when the span eventually collapses it leaves a stack standing apart from the cliff.
