Snow Lake (Pakistan)

Basins

Snow Lake, also known as Lukpe Lawo, is a high-altitude glacial basin in the Karakoram range of the Gilgit-Baltistan region of northern Pakistan; despite its name it is not a body of water. Sitting at about 4,877 meters elevation and roughly ten miles wide, it lies at the headwaters of the Biafo and Hispar glaciers, which together form one of the longest continuous glacier systems outside the polar regions, stretching about sixty-one miles.
